2026 New Year Message from CEO David Nyland

As we enter 2026, I’m reflecting with deep gratitude on 2025, a year that asked leaders to stay focused, adaptable, and intentional. Across the Lumine ecosystem, our teams did exactly that: strengthening operations, welcoming new businesses, advancing product innovation, and investing in the relationships that make long‑term value possible.
From the outset of the year, we recommitted to our mission of creating an ecosystem where communications and media software businesses can grow for the long-term. We expanded our footprint and capabilities, entering new markets and deepening specialization in domains where customers rely on us to power mission‑critical outcomes.
M&A Activity: New Companies, Expanding Geographies & Growing Capabilities
Each acquisition strengthens our global ecosystem—a network designed to provide a space where communications and media software businesses can succeed forever.
In 2025, we welcomed two businesses into Lumine:
- Vidispine, based in Germany, is a provider of media supply chain solutions, empowering broadcasters and content owners with advanced asset management and workflow tools. Vidispine marked our 15th corporate carve-out transaction.
- Datafusion Systems, based in Dubai, provides critical secure communication and intelligence solutions for telecom operators, law enforcement, and government agencies.
In December, we announced an agreement to acquire Synchronoss Technologies, another milestone for Lumine. This will mark our first acquisition of a public company and our second transaction with Synchronoss. In 2024, we acquired two business units from Synchronoss, which today operate as Openwave, RazorFlow, and SpatialNetworX within Lumine.
Upon close, this will also be the second time Lumine has completed two transactions with the same corporate seller: first with Nokia (Velocix in 2019 and Motive in 2023), and now with Synchronoss.
To me, these repeated relationships speak volumes: they reinforce our commitment to ensuring a smooth transaction experience and delivering a post-acquisition environment where businesses can succeed, creating the trust that brings partners back to the table. I am grateful to all the teams who make this happen.
Investing In Leadership, Brand, And Learning
This year, we strengthened our leadership bench, promoting Tony Garcia to COO and welcoming Mary Anne Lavallee as CFO, equipping Lumine to scale M&A, integration, and finance disciplines.
We also began the year with a refreshed brand identity. More than a design update, it was a moment of reflection and alignment that set the tone for what followed.
In May, we brought together our largest cohort of portfolio leaders at Illuminate, our flagship learning event. The week blended peer-to-peer learning, case-based sessions, and time to deepen trusted relationships that accelerate execution.
Building on this momentum, we hosted additional global learning experiences, including the Sales Summit and Hi-Po, which were designed to sharpen technical and leadership capabilities, empowering teams to drive greater impact within their organizations.
Showing Up Where the Industry Meets
A defining moment for us was at Mobile World Congress, where we introduced the Lumine Pavilion, a dedicated space for portfolio companies to showcase solutions and engage customers.
To me, the Pavilion was a signal of strength and stability, reinforcing that businesses within Lumine remain independent while benefiting from the support of a global ecosystem.
On a personal note, seeing the Lumine name illuminated in Hall 2 was a proud and humbling milestone, reflecting the collective effort of exceptional teams.
We also attended a number of shows focused in the media and content space. In April, NAB Show, where we celebrated Vidispine’s entry into the portfolio alongside WideOrbit’s continued leadership, and in September, IBC, reflecting growing our presence in the industry.
Leveraging AI with Purpose and Responsibility
Across our companies, AI moved from concept to execution. Teams applied AI to support R&D, streamline workflows, and enhance customer experiences, always with a focus on responsible use and measurable outcomes. Our approach remains deliberate: train teams well, embed AI into real processes, and ensure security and trust.
Building Brighter Futures
At Lumine, the future is bright is a message woven into our brand and our promise to companies. As we evolved, we asked: how can we take this further — beyond our companies and into communities?
That question led to Brighter Futures, Lumine’s platform for community impact, built on the belief that access to technology, education, and opportunity can transform lives. In 2025, we awarded scholarships to students pursuing careers in technology and business and worked with a Canadian organization to provide refurbished computers to Ontario communities in need.
These initiatives reflect what we stand for: creating brighter futures not only for the businesses we acquire, but for the world we share.
Onwards into 2026
In 2026, our priorities are clear: continue disciplined M&A, deepen operating excellence, invest in leadership development, and embrace AI responsibly to deliver secure, measurable outcomes.
If you’re curious about Lumine, whether you’re exploring a future with us for your business, your client, or as part of a carve-out, we would welcome a conversation.
To our teams across Lumine and our global ecosystem of customers: thank you for your energy, ambition, and care. Wishing you all the best in 2026.
Onwards & upwards,
David Nyland
