2026 Future Leaders in Business & Finance Scholarship Recipients
Lumine Group’s Future Leaders in Business & Finance Scholarship supports Canadian post-secondary students pursuing studies in business, finance, accounting, and economics who demonstrate financial need, leadership, and community involvement. For the 2025-2026 academic cycle, Lumine selected five recipients recognized for their academic commitment, leadership potential, community impact, and demonstrated financial need.
This year’s recipients represent a wide range of experiences, from leading student organizations and launching businesses to supporting newcomers and advancing inclusion in their communities. Out of respect for their privacy, we have not published the students’ names. Instead, we invite you to learn more about their backgrounds, achievements, and aspirations through the stories below.

Ana
Accounting – Mount Royal University
Ana is an accounting student at Mount Royal University and an immigrant from El Salvador who returned to post-secondary education in her late twenties while raising two children. As the first person in her family to attend university in Canada, she has balanced parenting, academics, and financial hardship while pursuing her goal of becoming a CPA.
Outside the classroom, Ana has dedicated more than 130 volunteer hours to Mount Royal University’s Free Breakfast Program, Care Cupboard, Mobile Grocery Program, and Tax Clinic, and has become a trusted resource for Calgary’s Spanish-speaking community, helping newcomers navigate forms, documentation, and translation challenges. Her leadership and dedication to supporting others earned her Mount Royal University’s 2025 Citizenship Award.

Haasini
Management & Organizational Studies (Finance Specialization) – Huron University
Haasini is a finance-focused student at Huron University who founded Sini’s Studio, a small jewelry business that gave her hands-on experience in marketing, operations, and customer engagement, alongside her studies. Her impact extends well beyond business, through leadership roles with organizations focused on youth education and community development, she has contributed hundreds of volunteer hours supporting students and connecting young people around the world through science, innovation, and mentorship programs.

Koby
Business Administration – Schulich School of Business, York University
Koby is a Business Administration student at the Schulich School of Business, raised by a single mother supporting three children which was an experience that shaped his commitment to creating opportunities for future generations. At Schulich, he has taken on leadership roles across several student organizations, including Vice President of Finance for Junior Achievement Canada, and is passionate about supporting Black students and creating spaces where diverse perspectives can thrive.
His dedication has earned him merit-based scholarships and experience as an investment analyst.

Ronit
Finance – Toronto Metropolitan University
Ronit is a finance student at Toronto Metropolitan University and a first-generation university student whose leadership is rooted in creating opportunities for others. As captain of his varsity soccer team, he fostered a culture of mentorship while also founding an intramural league that grew to eight teams. His commitment to accessibility led him to organize an adaptive sports tournament for students with disabilities and champion the installation of campus mobility ramps.
Beyond campus, Ronit volunteers at a retirement residence, helping seniors develop digital literacy skills, and has contributed to fundraising initiatives that raised more than $12,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Sandra
Business and Economics – Simon Fraser University
Sandra is a Business and Economics student at Simon Fraser University who, since her early teenage years, has balanced school, work, and family responsibilities while helping support her household through significant challenges. She has held leadership positions with Enactus SFU and Axis Consulting, helping students participate in projects that create social and economic impact, and has contributed to case competitions, mentorship programs, and training initiatives for emerging business leaders.
