Making a Difference Through Strategic Giving

Strategic giving is how we activate our mission. By investing in technology, education, and empowerment, we help remove barriers and create equitable access to opportunity, so more people have the tools to learn, grow, and lead.

Lumine is committed to supporting community organizations that are expanding access to technology and supporting future-focused initiatives.

We believe the future is brighter when more people have the tools to participate in it, and we’re open to partnering with organizations that share that vision.

Our Strategic Giving 2025 Beneficiary, RCTO

In 2025, Lumine is working with Renewed Computer Technology Ontario (RCTO), a not-for-profit committed to delivering social, economic, and environmental benefits through access to technology and skills development.

Our donation this year supports RCTO’s Computers for Schools Plus (CFS+) program. The program provides refurbished and upgraded computers to schools, libraries and community organizations across Ontario, Canada. Beneficiaries of our donation, include Centennial Sr. Public School, The Ottawa Mission, M’Wikwedong Indigenous Friendship Centre and Covenant House Toronto. These contributions are helping to expand digital access and support lifelong learning.

Donation Impact

Community Impact

The refurbished devices made possible through our donation join the efforts of many who are working to expand access to technology. Through RCTO’s model, these computers are placed directly into shelters and community organizations where they can support learning, connection, and creativity.

Environmental Impact

We chose to partner with RCTO because their model goes beyond donation, it’s about transformation. By refurbishing computers rather than recycling them, RCTO helps extend the life of technology, reducing environmental waste and conserving energy and resources.

Youth Impact

Technology can be a powerful tool for sparking curiosity and creativity in young learners. At Centennial Sr. Public School, donated computers will help students explore robotics, run classroom innovation projects, and support a lending library for families in need.

“Thanks to Lumine’s generous laptop donation, we’re now able to provide nearly every classroom with a permanent bank of computers, something we’ve never had before. This will make a real difference for our students, supporting daily learning and helping our Peel Technical Skills Team prepare for future competitions.”

— Centennial Sr. Public School, Peel Region

“Lumine’s contribution has had a direct impact on the success of M’Wikwedong’s programs heading into the school year. The students receiving these laptops come from communities where there are significant hurdles towards access to technology and supports for learning. This donation helps ensure that students that are eager to learn are not left behind. This better sets a level playing field. It creates motivation and a morale boost for individuals by demonstrating that their community believes in them as learners.  As a result, creativity and hope for a great future are truly enabled.

— Erin C, on behalf of M’Wikwedong Indigenous Friendship Centre

“From all of us at Covenant House, thank you so much for your kind donation. These computers will go a long way in making young people feel comfort, love and support from the community. From those continuing their education, completing certificates, pursuing employment opportunities and trainings, as well as building life skills, youth will benefit from your generosity and use it to pave a path forward.”

— Mark Aston, Executive Director, Covenant House Toronto

“The laptops will be provided to students in our shelter’s Stepping Stones Learning Centre (SSLC) and will have a significant impact on their pursuits of transformative educational and career goals. Within our SSLC classroom, Mission and community clients will work alongside our staff teacher, using these laptops to complete classwork, obtain high school diplomas, apply for postsecondary education, work on language skills, prepare for job applications, and more. Your gift provides these students with pathways out of homelessness and poverty, into independence and success.”
