Innovation at IBC 2023: Lumine Portfolio Spotlight

IBC is one of the world’s largest events for the content and media industry, and is one of Lumine Group’s most anticipated events of the year.

Founded in 1967 and hosted in Amsterdam, IBC has become a can’t-miss event for leading media content and technology companies driving the latest innovation in the space. MicrosoftTeams-image (56) (1)

“IBC is a powerful meeting ground for industry leaders who share a passion for shaping the future of media,” said Elliot Yunger, VP of Corporate Development at Lumine Group, who spoke more about this dynamic environment.

“This year was no exception, with the highlight being the opportunity to engage with these thought leaders, build new connections, and gain new insights that will drive Lumine Group forward. I'm already eagerly anticipating next year!”

Four Lumine companies had a presence at the show: WideOrbit, TransMedia Dynamics, Velocix, and Wiztivi. WideOrbit celebrated WO Omni, their next-generation cross-platform proposal management software, with a cocktail party welcoming customers and industry peers from around the world.

TransMedia Dynamics exhibited showcasing Mediaflex, a powerful media asset management system used by broadcasters to streamline workflows, optimize archives, and enhance teamwork with its scalable solution.

Velocix and Wiztivi exhibited to unveil the new product offerings they announced leading up to IBC. In this recap, we spotlight these two companies who had a chance to share their new offerings with customers – and the industry – in person.

Velocix made waves at IBC with its latest innovation: a hybrid-cloud CDN application that promises to revolutionize video service delivery. This cutting-edge technology allows video service providers to seamlessly blend elastic, cloud-based content delivery with cost-efficient on-premises streaming capabilities.

One of the key highlights of Velocix's hybrid-cloud CDN is its cloud-native and platform-agnostic architecture. This architecture empowers pay-TV providers to choose the deployment environment that best suits their needs, whether it's a private cloud, public cloud, or edge-cloud framework.

In addition to the new hybrid-cloud CDN offering, Velocix showcased a new edge-cloud CDN, a hybrid-cloud origin solution, as well as multi-CDN switching and video analytics solutions. These innovations reflect Velocix's commitment to providing efficient tools for video service providers, empowering them to deliver high-quality content while optimizing their operations.

Velocix also won the CSI award for Best VoD or Content On Demand Solution with our Hybrid Cloud Origin Server.

As the industry evolves, Velocix’s goal is to stay at the forefront, enabling providers to meet the growing demands of modern viewers with innovative technology solutions.

Wiztivi

Wiztivi is a provider of multi-screen app development and cloud gaming solutions. In early September, Wiztivi unveiled a cutting-edge Framework that empowers developers to create content once and deploy it seamlessly across various devices, including smart TVs, MicrosoftTeams-image (59) (1)set-top boxes, game consoles, and web interfaces, maintaining a consistent user experience. This move to offer the Framework as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution brings unparalleled flexibility and scalability to developers, democratizing cross-platform development for both small to medium-sized development teams and large system integrators, eliminating the need for platform-specific expertise.

Building on the momentum of this announcement, Wiztivi arrived at IBC ready to meet with their customer network to introduce this new solution, as well as demo their flagship products, Timeless and Streamava. Timeless is a fully integrated UX design and management console for cross-platform video application deployment. Streamava is a white-label multi-screen solution that enables customers to boost revenue and end-customer engagement by transforming any screen into a powerful gaming device.

As we leave this year’s event, we bring home a renewed appreciation for the industry’s influence on the small things that impact big moments.
